Another old piece, from one of my favorite anime: Maison Ikkoku. This particular scene is from episode 19, where Godai and Kyoko are finally left all alone together. And Kyoko has to keep watching over her shoulder to keep an eye on him, even while attempting to turn the channel on the TV (~ with a cute little rice craker in her mouth). =) This episode marked the turning point in the show for me where it went from just being 'alright' to one of my all time favorites. One of the best manga to anime translations too, because they stuck to the comic, then added excellent music, and a lot of nice scenery and dramatic touches right where they were needed.

This was done 'cell-style': acrylic paint on the back of a transparency, background was a mix of colored pencils and color pastels. The logo I scanned in and edited on a computer, and then printed out on a piece of paper that I attached to it all. There are a couple things here I tried that didn't exaclty work out: 1) I tried to do a little cross hatching on top of the cell w/ blue paint to represent 'The blue glow' from the TV set. 2) The image on the TV set is supposed to be her refelection on the screen.

Maison Ikkoku © Rumiko Takahashi.

A friend once asked me: "You talk the talk, but can you still walk the walk?"
Well.. I hope I can.
:iconmutantpenguin:
Thanks. I think I should have used more color to bring out the reflection, and make it more obvious, but oh well. I was trying something new at the time. That's how we learn right!?

Or "O" as in "Oh, yeah!" Giggity, Giggity!
:iconartytoons:
"K" as in Kyoko and Keebler.

Put them together and you get "O.K.!" :-)
